Kobo has an exciting opportunity to offer any author looking for more reviews of their eBooks. By purchasing a slot in our NetGalley/Kobo Co-op, you have the opportunity to garner reviews from booksellers, bloggers, librarians, and more. If accepted, your title will be available to them on the NetGalley website.
How it works
Every month, we'll send out a form to interested authors for submissions. You can submit one book for consideration. If accepted, your title will be listed on NetGalley for one month.
Once you have been accepted and finished payment, we'll handle the rest. Check in at NetGalley at the start of the campaign month to see your title.
This spot costs $40.00 USD. Regularly, an author would pay $599 for a six-month slot with NetGalley.
Your book must be available on Kobo to be considered.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I submit titles to NetGalley?
We send out a submission form every month to collect submissions for the next month. We review all submitted titles and select 20 to upload to NetGalley. If you'd like to be added to this list and haven't received an email about NetGalley from us already, please email us at email@example.com to be added to the list.
Can I submit older titles or only pre-orders?
We're allowing people to upload backlist titles as well as digital ARCs (in EPUB format).
How do I pay for this promo campaign?
Once your title is accepted, you'll get an email from us with a link to a payment form.
How will I know how many reviews I get?
We will be using the email an author submits with their entry form to ensure they get notified by NetGalley whenever there is a review. So regardless of what month you entered, you'd still get a notification a year from then if someone had reviewed your title then, even if the title was archived.
What will the approval system be for approving reviewers?
Since books are only available for a month at most, we won't be restricting reviewers. The file will be protected by social DRM, which embeds a user's NetGalley ID and email into the file, which can be used to track them if the file is ever distributed.
How will you prevent piracy of my books on NetGalley?
Every file will be protected by social DRM, which embeds a user's NetGalley ID and email into the file, which can be used to track them if the file is ever distributed.
Will this tie into promotions at Kobo?
This is essentially an extension of our promo campaigns, so we'd love to be able to do some tie-in promotions of the titles that are currently being featured at NetGalley. More details to come.
