You have successfully published your book and it is now live on our store. Congratulations! However, you notice a typo that needs immediate attention. What do you do?
Whether it is a content change, metadata update, or price change, you can make changes to a published title at any time.
How to make a metadata change
Sign into your Kobo Writing Life account, select "eBooks" to see your catalogue of titles, and choose the title you would like to update.
This will open the metadata for your book and you can make any metadata changes you wish to make.
Once you have made your desired changes, click the "publish" button at the bottom of the page to publish those changes.
How to make a content change
Under the “Add eBook content" section, select the "Select file" button to find your file on your computer.
If your file is not already in an ePub file format, we’ll automatically convert it for you.
- If there are any validation errors, we strongly recommend fixing these before publishing your book. For more information, please see our Validating and Testing Your eBooks article.
Once you have uploaded your new ebook, click the "publish" button at the bottom of the page to publish changes.
How to make a price change
Once your book is published, you can set up a sale price or a permanent price change for your title.
Under the Pricing section of your book you can make changes to your default list price. Once you enter the price in your default currency, you can choose to set custom prices for the other territories where we have a dedicated storefront.
The system will display the current price, but will also display a recommended price in red, which is converted from your default price, and rounded to the nearest whole number. You must click the red text to apply that converted price.
Once your changes are complete, select “Publish" at the bottom of the page.
How to schedule a price change
- To schedule a sale, in which your regular price drops for a limited time and then returns back to the normal/regular price, click on Schedule a sale.
- To schedule a permanent price change, where you’ll be changing your regular price from that date forward, click on Schedule a price change.
Scheduling a sale
When scheduling a sale, you will be asked to provide both a start date and an end date for your sale.
The next step will be adding in any currencies you’d like included in the sale.
Once your sale prices are set, select "save" at the bottom of the window.
Scheduling a price change
When scheduling a price change, you will be asked to provide a start date for the new price. By default the start date will be set to today's date.
To change the start date, select the arrow next to the date to edit the start date.
Set a new price in your default currency.
The next step will be adding in any other currencies you’d like to change the price in.
Once your prices are set, select "save" at the bottom of the window.
Once all changes are complete select "Publish" at the bottom of the page to publish your updates.
Once saved, these updates will be reflected on our site within 24-72 hours.
