Delisting an eBook
To remove an eBook from sale, follow these steps:
- Go to your Kobo Writing Life Dashboard.
- Select the eBooks section.
- Select the eBook you wish to remove.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and select De-list the eBook.
- A window will pop up verifying you want to Remove your eBook from the Kobo store?
- Provide a reason for de-listing
- Select "Yes, delist the ebook". If you are not ready to delist, select "No, do not delist ebook" to return to editing your book.
Note that if you have already published the book, you will only have the option to “de-list” it instead of removing it entirely. We have introduced this policy so that it will be easier for users to re-list published works if they change their minds.
When a book is deactivated on Kobo, we send our partners a deactivation notice to let them know it needs to be removed from their store too. This typically happens within 24-72 hours. If you notice your book is still appearing on a partner site after you have delisted it on Kobo, please contact our team directly and we can ensure it is removed.
CAUTION: When re-publishing a de-listed book, the book will lose the rankings and associated placement in search results which were accumulated when the book was initially published. Delisting books temporarily is therefore discouraged.
Delisting an Audiobook
If you would like to delist an audiobook from our store, please reach out to us at writinglife@kobosupport.com, providing the ISBN of the title you would like delisted, and we will remove it for you.
Republishing a Delisted Book
To re-publish a book that you have delisted, please find the eBook entry in your KWL account and click "Re-Publish" on the final step. Once submitted, it can take 24-72 hours for the book to be published again.
