How to Set the Price on your Audiobook

Step-by-step Instructions

In order to set the price for your audiobook, please follow the steps below:

  1. Login to your KWL account on https://www.kobo.com/writinglife
  2. Once logged into your KWL account, please select the Audiobooks tab located at the top horizontal menu of the dashboard.

  3. Select the audiobook you would like to update.

  4. Scroll down until you reach the Pricing Section. 
  5. Edit currency values for each currency listed. The first currency at the top will be “Your Currency.” This is the default currency assigned to your account based on your banking information. The example below shows Canadian Dollars as the default currency. 
    • Note: To make your audiobook available for free, please enter the value “0” as the price for all listed currencies.

Changes made to your default currency affect other currencies if they are left empty. This means your default currency will be used as a baseline and converted into whichever currency you leave empty. We recommend entering your own conversion to optimize it as per your pricing preferences, such as adjusting prices to end in .99 for example. 

All other currencies below may react to changes made to your default currency. Suggested prices are listed under each field. The price entered will affect the percentage of royalties received for the audiobook.

Once saved, these updates will be reflected on our site within 24 hours. If your changes are not updated on site within this timeframe, please email us at writinglife@kobo.com and we will look into your title.

 

Scheduled Pricing

Unfortunately, at this time, there is no scheduled pricing tool for KWL audiobooks as there is for eBooks. In order to put your audiobooks on sale, you will have to change the pricing at the time that you want the sale to start, and then change the prices back to regular price at the end of the sale period.

 

Price Limits

Pricing for audiobooks is limited and exceeding the limit will prevent your book from being published or your changes from being properly saved. This limit varies depending on currency.

 

The price of your audiobook can be free or must fall within these limits:

 

CAD $0 or between $0.99–$31.00

HKD $0 or between $8.00–$200.00

CHF $0 or between $0.99–$25.00

TWD $0 or between $20.00–$799.00

MXN $0 or between $12.99–$450.00

EUR €0 or between €0.99–€25.00

USD $0 or between $0.99–$28.00

ZAR $0 or between $9.99–$350.00

INR $0 or between ₹49.99–₹1,500.00

AUD $0 or between $0.99–$31.00

JPY $0 or between ¥80–¥2,999

GBP $0 or between £0.99–£20.00

NZD $0 or between $0.99–NZ$31.00

PHP $0 or between ₱35.99–₱1,250.00

BRL $0 or between $2.49–R$100.00
